Allan has worked in the Information Technology industry since 1987

He started as a field service technician and progressed to Systems Engineering

While he was a Professional Services Engineer he received Novell NetWare Administrator and Engineer Certifications in Netware 4.X and 5.X

In 2003  he completed the MCSE 2000 program at Clark University.   He has acquired Microsoft Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certifications on Windows 2000 Pro, Windows 2000 Server and Windows 2003 Server.

His extensive background includes

Network Operating Systems from Microsoft, Windows 2000, 2003 & 2008 (Cert soon) and  Novell, NetWare 2.x, 3.x, 4.x, 5.x and 6.x.

Messaging clients from; Lotus Notes and cc:Mail, Novell GroupWise 4. and Microsoft Exchange/Outlook 

Network Protocols; IPX/SPX, TCP/IP.

Desktop Operating Systems from ; Microsoft DOS 3.x - 6.2x, Windows 3.1x, 95, 98, Me,  NT Workstation 4.0, 2000, XP and Vista to IBM  OS/2 2.x and 3.0.   Allan has begun to introduce himself to the Linux operating system from Red Hat and Novell/Suse as well as the new Desktop Operating System from Microsoft Windows 7.

Network Topologies; Ethernet, Token Ring

Network cabling standards and practices using coaxial, twisted pair and wireless media.

Network and Desktop Anti-Virus systems; McAfee Viruscan 3.x for DOS, Windows 3.1x - NT 4.0, McAfee Netshield 3.0 on NetWare 3.1x and 4.1x as well as  Norton Anti Virus on DOS, Windows 3.1x -XP and on NetWare 3.1x , 4.x, 5.X and 6.x;

Network Backup systems; Computer Associates ArcServe 6.X and Veritas Backup Exec 8.X for NetWare and Windows.
